'all things come to those', a sonnet for December

It has been awhile since I last posted a sonnet, so before the New Year, I created this tribute to someone who will likely never know their significance to me.

all things come to those

I've heard it happens frequently, though still
not commonly; it does require a right
harmonic linkage, and opposing will
and motion, with a shared acclaimed delight
that seeks to find the underlying note --
which like the belltone calling acolytes
into the shrine, we thus inspired devote
our revelations to the splendored heights
of undeniable reaction, flow-
ing like a riverflood into the sea,
as natural as gravity, a throe
that shows the truest sensitivity
to proffered magnitude, as simpleness
and reverence create profound success.
