(Stupid) Republicans strike again

The Republican governor of Alaska just cut 40% from the state university budget.

Not 4%.  Not even 4²% (i.e., 16%).  No, truly 40%.  Effective essentially immediately.

That's astonishing.  That's ridiculous.  That's just plain stupid.

But hey, that's Republicans fer ya.

He also says a furlough notice will go out to all staff members that in 60 days they will be on leave without pay. “A preliminary rough estimate is that we would need to reduce 1,300 faculty and staff across the university system,” he adds."
