In my next post I'm going to write more about the island this lighthouse is located on, which only came to my attention very recently.
First of all, I will show the location, which will reveal the uniqueness of this place. It is a part of Italy, but when you see where it is, you might question that.
This is where it is on the island.
And this is what the Lighthouse Directory says about it. Though it doesn't say it, it appears to have a Fresnel lens.
"1884. Active; focal plane 50 m (164 ft); two white flashes every 10 s. 21 m (69 ft) round masonry tower with lantern and gallery, rising from a 2-story masonry keeper's house. Entire lighthouse painted white. ... Most photos indicate that the lighthouse has been in rather poor condition but the 2023 photo at right shows improved conditions. Located on the northeast side of the island, about 7 km (4.5 mi) east of the town of Pantelleria."I acquired several pictures. You will note that the island is volcanic.
