Interesting article here - despite the slowdown in the rise of Earth's surface temperatures (most of the heat is currently going into the oceans, we who are knowledgeable about climate know), the continued upward pressure is leading to more extremes, and the Earth just keeps setting extreme records. (Except in the United States east of the Mississippi River, where things have been rather stable and kinda cool.)
So here's the article about the extremes we, collectively, keep experiencing on this Earth abode of ours. Extremes mainly caused by the fact that so many of us are living here.
No hiatus for temperature extremes
“We can see that overall the warmest day of the year became warmer in
the recent hiatus period, in the observations as well as in the model
simulations. The coldest night in a year also became warmer, except in
the mid-latitudes, and even exceeds the warming observed in the hot
extremes in the high northern latitudes.” -- Jana Sillmann of the Center for International Climate and Environmental Research – Oslo (CICERO)
Another indicator that it's getting warmer.
As we who are knowledgeable about climate know.
